Vick Advising Excellence Center

An advisor meets with a student in the Vick Center

Vick Advising Excellence Center

The Vick Advising Excellence Center serves students across campus who are looking for help exploring majors, navigating the internal transfer process, and problem-solving Core Curriculum issues. The Vick Center also focuses on advising excellence by providing all academic advisors at UT Austin with the training, tools, and resources to deliver the best advising experiences to their students.

If you have questions about course scheduling and do not intend to switch your major, you must meet with the advising office within your college/school.

Fall 2025 Drop-ins

Have a quick question? The Vick Center hosts drop-in advising to answer questions that may not need a full 30-minute appointment. Drop-ins are intended to last 10-15 minutes. If you are meeting with us for the first time, a 30-minute scheduled appointment is often most helpful, with drop-ins typically being most appropriate for quick, follow-up questions.

Please note, if you have questions about course scheduling and do not intend to switch your major, or are looking to clear a registration hold, q-drop a class, withdraw, or change a class to pass/fail, you must meet with the advising office within your college/school.
