Student Employment

Join our team and gain valuable work experience while earning income to support yourself. We understand that you are a student first, so our positions are designed with flexibility in mind, offering adaptable work hours to fit your academic schedule. Sometimes, you can combine multiple Sanger positions to work up to 20 hours per week. This allows you to maximize your experience and earning potential while keeping your studies as your top priority. Please keep in mind that:

  • Most of our student jobs for the entire academic year open in March/April.
  • All of our positions are work-study eligible.
  • Student employee wages start at $14/hr
  • If hired, you must complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification form, I-9, before your start date

Outreach & Communication Specialist

Are you a strong communicator with a passion for helping others succeed? Join the Sanger Learning Center as an Outreach & Communication Specialist (OCS) and lead engaging workshops for students across campus. OCS connect with fellow Longhorns through presentations, events, and outreach efforts while growing their facilitation skills, gaining leadership experience, and enjoying a flexible work schedule.

Peer Tutor

Do you enjoy explaining concepts and helping others learn? Peer Tutors at the Sanger Learning Center work one‑on‑one (Appointment Tutoring) and in small groups (Drop-In Tutoring) to support students in specific courses and subject areas. Peer Tutors help students build understanding, confidence, and effective learning strategies while strengthening their own communication and leadership skills. This role offers flexible scheduling, professional development opportunities, and meaningful experience in teaching and mentoring.

Social Media Coordinator

Are you creative, detail‑oriented, and interested in telling stories through digital media? Join the Sanger Learning Center as a Social Media Coordinator and help promote academic support services through engaging social media content. In this role, you’ll collaborate with staff and student teams to create posts, graphics, and campaigns that connect fellow Longhorns to Sanger resources. This position offers hands‑on experience in content creation, marketing strategy, and professional communication, along with training, mentorship, and a flexible schedule.

Student Associate

Are you friendly, organized, and eager to help others? Join the Sanger Learning Center as a Student Associate and be the welcoming face of our center. Student Associates support daily operations across our service desks by assisting students in person and online, answering questions about programs, managing appointments, and helping create a positive, inclusive environment. This role is ideal for students looking to build communication, customer service, and professional skills while making a meaningful impact on fellow Longhorns.Are you friendly, organized, and eager to help others? Supplemental Instruction and Peer-Led Team Learning (Application opens late March)

Are you passionate about helping others succeed? The Sanger Learning Center is seeking Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders to facilitate engaging study sessions for challenging courses. SI Leaders play a crucial role in academic success by leading collaborative sessions, attending course lectures, and developing learning strategies that help students thrive.

Texas Success Initiative Undergraduate Assistant

Are you detail‑oriented and interested in supporting student success behind the scenes? TSI Undergraduate Assistants support the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) program by assisting with administrative tasks, student communication, data tracking, and day‑to‑day program operations. In this role, you’ll help ensure students receive timely information and support related to TSI requirements while gaining experience in higher education operations, professional communication, and student support services. This position offers training, mentorship, and a flexible schedule.
